Since 1984, M 'N' M Frederick has been Frederick's premiere music store.  Featuring top brands in the music industry, this one time "Mom & Pop" shop has grown into Frederick's largest instrument, lesson and musical equipment sales and rental store.


Reg's Story
In his early 20's, Reg Nusbaum packed his bags and drums in his van and headed to D.C. to become a full time drummer. While struggling to make his dreams of being a full-time musician come true, he began working for Gilco, a company who manufactured professional speakers for music stores as well as sound companies. Five years later, Gilco went out of business and Reg found himself at one of Gilco's suppliers, Bill Lawrence Pick-Ups.Yeah, a drummer, selling pick-ups, but Reg was good at his job and even better, he started picking up more lines and selling to more stores Reg loved his job, but what he did not love was all the traveling involved. So, the next logical step for Reg was M 'N' M Frederick!
In July of 1984, Reg opened a small music store on West Patrick Street in Frederick, MD with his first employee Gary Hunt. Opening the store with lines like Fender & Peavey and offering guitar & drum lessons, M 'N' M Frederick quickly became Frederick's one-stop-shop for musical needs. Word spread about the knowledgeable sales staff, excellent teachers, repair shop and high end gear, by 1987, M 'N' M Frederick had to expand the store to a bank building below the current shop. With the larger store front came in more gear, more teachers, store manager Rick LaFever and co-owner Pam Nusbaum. M 'N' M Frederick spent its first 13 years in the beloved West Patrick Street location before opening what is now the "Premiere music store in Frederick, MD" at 7540 North Market Street Extended.
M 'N' M Frederick now carries more lines of guitars, amps & PA equipment with over 50 different manufactures from high end boutique gear to inexpensive beginner and practice equipment. Hosting an in-house repair shop, more music teachers, the very successful rental and install division and events like guitar & drum clinics, student recitals, and a variety of demos in their dedicated performance room. M 'N' M Frederick has done installs for churches, gymnasiums, small and large businesses and has even done live sound for special events.
Let's not forget the very popular and successful bi-annual Rock 'N' Roll Yard Sale! Held twice a year, this sale is what our local musicians and many other musicians from around the metro/ tri-state area, who come to trade, sell and network, look forward to most. Pam's Story
Thirty years ago, Reg Nusbaum would say at least once a week, "Frederick needs a music store that sells gear for the playing musician". Well, he said it one too many times to his wife, Pam, and she told him "either open a music store or don't ever bring it up again." So, the rest was "his" story and here I am, one of the faces of M 'N' M Frederick! I am extremely proud of our staff. They are so knowledgeable & work hard at keeping up with the newest & hottest products in the music industry.
